Departure – Haibun Monday

It was three months after I started the lab training. Those months were wonderful, learned new skills in the lab, met a lot of other students from different countries and had lots of parties, cycling trips, field trips and others. Also, met the love of my life. He had been here for a year and it was time for him to depart. I still had three months left. He had to go back to the UK to finish his degree. With heavy hearts, we went to the airport. He checked in and we waited. We didn’t know what would happen. Would we see each other again? In two different countries, continents even. We cried our hearts out.

Checked in all his bags
The uncertainty of love
Crying our hearts out
