The Florette (Form No. 2), created by Jan Turner, is a variation and longer form of The Florette.
Rhyme scheme: a,a,b,b,a
Iambic beat is required throughout (one unaccented followed by one accented syllable).
Like the outgrowing of a small flower, the fifth line of each stanza is longer, carrying four additional syllables than the first four lines.
days are getting longer, warmer
the gloom is over, cheerier
flowers waking up, blossoming
it’s time for cycling and walking
lots of lovely places, we can all be amblers
some crocuses and daffodils
tulips and snowdrops give us thrills
sky is clearer, birds are singing
now is the time for gardening
invite friends around so we can have fun and grills
