Poison – FLASH FICTION FOR THE PURPOSEFUL PRACTITIONER- 2017 WEEK #16

poison

Why is it that I carried on?

On something that’s pointless

When I’ve given my heart and soul

And nothing was return?

When I was your cure

And you were my bacteria

Or even a parasite seeping through

When I was trying to save you

And you were drowning me

Or even slowly killing me

I must have known before

Signs were all there

But I wasn’t following my advice

I thought things would have changed

I thought if I’ve given you my love

You’d love me in return

I was wrong

You were my poison

Killing me softly
