The sound of the rain around her enfold

– Barbara Florczyk

She was not going to allow the cold
Wind-driven rain to change her plan
The sound of the rain around her enfold
Even the thunder cannot make her run

She approach all with a single aim
And that is to win, no matter what
She has to lay claim on the frame
It takes a lot of courage and gut

In each level, she has to play fair
A key player of life, with a glint of hope
She’s always been fair and square
No matter what, she’s always able to cope

Taking everything with a grain of salt
But then he came and everything changed
The whole world seems to halt
Doesn’t want him to be estranged

Attaching to him like glue, losing her mind
But he wants to go where no one has been
She held his hands, their fingers entwined
He was nowhere to be seen, to her chagrin

And suddenly at this present phase, she’s lost
She has to start from scratch and that’s tough
She was physically and mentally exhausted
She should carry on, what she did wasn’t enough
