THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Trying to Pray” by Twyla Hansen: press, palms, bow, songbirds, ravage, butterflies, fox, farmer, tomatoes, dazzled, munching, flows
Songbird cuts the calm with a serenade
I press the palms of my hands together
Hope flows from my soul searching for answer
Dazzled with unknown and what it conveyed
I bow my head, reach up my hand as I prayed
Sweet butterflies hover by the altar
Songbird cuts the calm with a serenade
I press the palms of my hands together
The farmer and his tomatoes as he sprayed
Munching them after he sprayed the acre
I saw a fox following him with his fur
Like a jackal at the moon as it bayed
Songbird cuts the calm with a serenade*
