Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille, September 27th 2017 – mushrooms

The forest is such an ancient place. It was raining last night so this morning’s walk is a bit foggy and wet. The branches and barks of trees are full of moss, all kelp-like. The pines are several houses tall. The air is rich with the fragrance of leaves and loam, damp, too. I take in all the air my lungs will hold and expel it slowly. And as I walk further, mushrooms appear everywhere.

The autumn walk
Mushrooms appear everywhere
Symphony of life
