Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille, October 25th, 2017 raindrops

The rain is needed
But the timing of the storm
Couldn’t have been worse
I was not going to allow the cold
Wind-driven rain to change my plan
The sound of the rain around me enfold
Even the thunder cannot make me run
In each level, I have to play fair
A key player of life, with a glint of hope
I’ve always been fair and square
No matter what, I’ve always able to cope
Taking everything with a grain of salt
But then he came and everything changed
The whole world seems to halt
Doesn’t want him to be estranged
Attaching to him like glue, losing my mind
But he wants to go where no one has been
I held his hands, our fingers entwined
He was nowhere to be seen, to my chagrin

Let the rain tease me
Embracing me with passion
The scent and splendour
Of the earth longing for rain
Quenches its thirst and desire
