A month with Yeats: Day Eight

p01l97fw

Today’s quote is taken from ‘The Second Coming’ by W.B. Yeats.
‘The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;’

Shadows of the past
They were coming so fast
We cannot bring back
And everywhere was black
Grief-stricken for years
Struggling for our fears
For the guilt and the innocence
Always in our conscience
Vexed revelation and fervent troubles
We have to fight our battles
Vast widening of rough seas and lives
Do we forget and forgive?
