Skyscrapers
Middle of city
Fun to work
Fun to shop
If only we could afford
Such is city life
Clamorous
Gloomy grey sky
Heavy clouds
Rush to work
Claustrophobia on the streets
Ticking of the clock
With high heels
Some business meetings
Men in suits
Limousines
Cocktail drinks and hors d’oeuvre
Fast cars and fast world

I could feel the hustle and bustle. I think I even might have heard a horn honk. Nicely done.

I enjoyed your poem. I grew up in London but I haven’t lived in a city for nearly 30 years.

I’m a country mouse. We don’t live too far from Philly, but if I never have to go there again it will be just fine with me.
I like the name you chose for your city–Shadorma.

WOW!! Your poem descriptions what it is really like. You hit it out of the park. Very clever.

This was a nice poem about city life – not always what you think it will be. Good job!

Despite the picture, your poem made me think of Tokyo rather than New York or Chicago. Maybe it was the reference ‘fun to shop’.
