A Month with Yeats: Day Fourteen

Today’s quote if from ‘To Ireland in the Coming Times’.

‘That you, in the dim coming times,
May know how my heart went with them
After the red-rose-bordered hem.’ —W.B. Yeats

large

As I ponder the journey of my heart
Some newfound wisdom I’d like to impart
Your fleeting face appeared in my dream
You were there, standing in midstream
Time and time the dim veracity become lit
My adoration to thee I care to admit
No more rage or rant, they were all wrong
No more mistake, I want us to get along
No more sadness but pure contentment
My heartfelt commitment so fervent
For love is pure and that’s what we have
To soothe my inner turmoil like a salve
Time doesn’t stand still nor goes backward
And with thee, my prayer has been answered
