Time To Write: Picture Prompt 18 [Creative Writing Prompt]

The sun was shining, today’s the day
Time to celebrate, hip, hip, hurray
Reaching the crossroads of his life
Lessons learned, forget the strife
Summoning enough courage, he entered
Some excitement has been stirred
Balloons of different colours all blown up
Red, blue, pink ones, as his face all lit up
One burst as it hit the rose’s thorns
Outside were some overgrown hawthorns
Sweet little crocuses blooming in the garden
As well as daffodils, bluebells and jasmine
Birds flew and sang on their way to their nests
He wish his friends would be here as guests
The fervour of the night still fresh, owls hooting
Cows mooing, sheep jingling their bells and baaing
As he was reminiscing this thread of thoughts
He looked up and like winning the jackpots
They all came with a big cake, singing
Many happy returns of the day!!!

Ten Things of Thankful

Hello everyone! So many things to be thankful this week.

thank you for the full moon one clear evening

… the roast chicken we cooked last night

… the udon soup I had when I met my friend C in town

… fresh sweet peas everyday … the more we pick them the more they flower

… apples growing

… and our grapes

… don’t forget the chillies

… managed to clean the aquarium with the solitary fish in it!

… managed to get Him Indoors his birthday present

Very thankful for all the blessing – mother’s health, HRH the son and beautiful K’s happy with their lives and of course, Him Indoors and I – we’re still together!

Have a great week everyone!

FOWC with Fandango — Continue

We’re nearly there and we have to keep going
Praise the Lord for managing to continue
Look, I could see a glint of assurance at the end
The overgrown garden with herbs is my witness
Hush, don’t feel guilty for not doing other things
As the leaves sway with the winds, be happy
Our sense of woe slowly disappearing
We are compelled to continue until the end
To give us some sort of satisfaction and hope

June 28: Flash Fiction Challenge – The sketch of Jessamine

June 28, 2018, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story that is a sketch or about a sketch. It can be “A Sketch of a Romance” or “The Sketch of Aunt Tillie.” Go where the prompt leads you to scribble.

A sketch from a brother who loves her so
She who left us so early in her life
Siblings she left and grew long time ago

Let her soul be in peace in afterlife
Remember her poems, paintings and art
Singing and dancing, seeing the wildlife

Her memories lingered on in our hearts
Her brother and sister are doing well
Sang like angel, played piano like Mozart

Jessamine was her name, our belle
Legacy of faith, love and fun
She moved like she was a gazelle

She brought the light to us like sun
Treasured every moment with her

Saturday Mix – Lucky Dip, 30 June 2018 – Decuain

This year is a fearless year for us both
Thirty two years of being married, that’s one
We’ve seen each other and perhaps our growth
What we’ve done, have a son and some more fun
We ask, like, who really wears the apron?
Or who wears the trousers in this household?
Doesn’t really matter, it’s just a pun
Have some adventures and we’re getting bold
We don’t bargain, challenges we don’t shun
We go through life together and we’ve won

FMF Link-up :: If

If the rain stops, then we can cycle to the beer garden. We’ll have a picnic, complete with our Bavarian tablecloth which we take on our bike rides. I can have the grilled fish and then an ice-cream later, don’t forget the wheat beer, too. Him Indoors will have his lager and chips. We’ll cycle back, stopping by the garden to take pictures of the flowers.

If the son skypes, then we can talk about their jobs and their plans for the summer. He’ll talk to his Dad about England and football and talk to me about Netflix and what series or films we’ve seen.

If the clothes get dry, then I can iron or fold them. Or better still, I can start packing. I know there’s still two months before I fly to the Philippines, but I’m also thinking of presents to give to my family and friends. Couldn’t wait to see my mother again.

Have a nice weekend everyone!
