I’ve Got To Do It

Weight: still 150 kilos

Feeling: suicidal

I’ve been trying to lose weight for a long time. I followed every trends, has been yoyo dieting, and somehow my weight kept on increasing. I’m getting depressed; the chocolates seemed to be my only friend.

I’ve got to do it. She has been nagging me, pushing me to do this and do that. She won’t listen to my excuses. They’re quite hard and I just can’t do them.

So when I found that gun in the forest, I knew what to do. It’s either her or me. I shot her, my useless fitness trainer… it won’t be much of a loss. (107 words)

Road of my life wasn’t smooth sailing
Things around the world are baffling
I’ve gone through a lot of crisis
I have to prove my braveness
I was given severe trouncing
Life could be tough and gruelling
Experienced some force of nature
Like fire, typhoon and earthquakes
I had to fight to live and survive
That’s probably how I thrive
Never mind the irony of the situation
I’m fully sympathetic to the plight of others
I understand what they were going through
I comprehend their issues on crossing borders
Thanks to my experience, I’ve got deep insight

to be by your side
couldn’t stop me for trying
even crossing seas

flying for freedom
disregarding hindrances
countless willpower

Three hundred words to justify the existence of my
Favourite things, persons or places otherwise they vanish
That was harsh! Anyway, here they are from the top of my head
Him Indoors and His Royal Highness – the husband and son
Without them I’m nothing or vanish me with them without a trace
My mother dear, my number one fan, it doesn’t matter what I am or do
My rock, my idol, I am becoming more and more like her as I grow old
The sunshine, the stars at night, the rainbow after the rain, the dew at night
A cup of tea in the morning, a long bath after a day’s work with soft music
Dinner cooked by Him Indoors, flowers being planted for me, the whole garden
Dedicated to me, these are some of my favourite things…. HRH the son skyping us
Regularly on Sunday afternoon with all his news and updates, telling us all’s well
My new found hobby, blogging with all the prompts, challenges, writings, photos
Interested to read what others are writing, encouraged by them to be creative
Trying shadorma, haiku, haibun, cinquain, limerick, clarity pyramid, wordle
Travel theme, word snap, write now, fairytale prompt, finish the story and others
Well, not exactly three hundred words – please don’t vanish them without a trace

Tummy Tuesday : Roast chicken

Hello everyone! My first time to post here at Tummy Tuesday…. thanks for the opportunity. Anyway, last week we had roast chicken for dinner. First, we coat the chicken with olive oil, then spread salt, pepper and other chicken spices like paprika, chilli, etc. Stuff it with chopped onions and few sprigs of rosemary. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and roast the chicken for one and a half hour. For the potatoes, parboil them then put them in the oven, too. Steam or boil green beans and peas. Best serve with chilled white wine. Cheers!

Madonna and child
there’s resurrection after
when the child grows up
Madonna can be herself
instead of someone’s mother

it’s a selfless act
raise and build a family
don’t forget herself
even though it doesn’t end
the role of wife and mother
