Sunday Writing Prompt “Quote Me”

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “A Short History of Silence” by Jane Yeh: bread, smile, promise, eaves, wrapper, rock, kiss, sleep, porch, candles, doorbell, braid

We shouldn’t depend on comfort
Biggest barrier to happiness
Your smile and kiss such a bonus

When I’ve exert all my effort
Might be tough but there’s a promise
Going through the storms and there’s us

Some rocks and stones thrown to us hurt
Answer the doorbell, give them bread
From difficulties never fled

Candles on the porch reassert
Braid in my hair, sleep in the eaves
Grateful for blessings we receive

With wrapper and red bow I flirt
Sometimes love is unrequited
Move on even when I’m blighted*
