Fragments of blue remain, like scattered puzzles
The air is at its freshest after it drizzles
Some badgers carried the food back in their lair
Leaves dance to unheard beat, soothing to the ears
And at the edge of the forest the sky grieves

The poem feels so, I hate to say normal, but something akin to it, until the phrase: the sky grieves, which tosses the world upside down. Beautiful.

You had me at /leaves dance to unheard beat/. I have always found the forest to be both muse and sensei.

The beaver gathering food is a great image, but in the morning I would see all the tree he has felled.
