Photo Challenge #226 – Pink ice-cream to keep me dreaming

– Anka Zhuravleva

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Autumn Begins in Martins Ferry, Ohio” by James Wright: nursing, night, cluck, gallop, beers, dreaming, starved, against, blast, fathers, sons, bodies

Pink ice-cream to keep me dreaming
Nursing my heart which was broken
Starved of love, feeling of pain

Blast from the past, at night again
When you were here and we had fun
Against all odds we were aiming

Gallop through the years with a swing
Bodies together now there’s none
Drinking beer, walking in the rain

Cluck in the middle of the plane
Fathers and sons lost in action
Just when my ice-cream is melting

As I cycle to the city
I should go on now that I’m free*
