Walk along the shady trees
Trees of mahogany-brown
Brown forest of sleeping souls
Souls with pulsing hearts in town
A citadel of scurrying squirrels
Squirrels eating nuts and mushrooms
Mushrooms wild and special
Special and expensive one presumes
Rusting foliage and crispy grasses
Grasses still wet from the dew
Dew formed at night
Night with you know who
Of loping wolves and bears
Bears lumbering as they sleep
Sleep under the lucent stars
Stars of flashing silver as they peep
The ancient trees stretched away
Away from the crowds
Crowds young and noisy
Noisy as the rain with grey clouds*
