The Cuckoo’s Falling

3628512-4901399589-Calab

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “White Dog” by Australian poet Susan Hampton: meditation, sit, tigers, together, monk, cowardice, protects, paddock, learn, dog, leaping, watch

The cuckoo’s falling
Down into the paddock
The tiger’s playing
They both had the haddock

Down into the paddock
Sit and meditate
This life of nomadic
Together they ate

The tiger’s playing
As the dog watch, he leaps
And the monk’s praying
Protects them as he sweeps

They both had the haddock
Cuckoo and tiger
It’s quite sporadic
But both so eager*
