A Month with Yeats: Day Ten

A third of the way through, today’s quote is from ‘The Host of the Air.’

‘And he saw how the reeds grew dark
At the coming of night-tide,’ W.B. Yeats.

In his dream he sang a song
Full of memories of young him
In a crowded place he waited
Her eyes shaded by the brim

She looked so merry and bright
With her blue skirt and blouse
How divine she looked, he sighed
One day she would be his spouse

They danced until early morning
The band played their favourite song
Such charming couple they make
With each other they belong
