Promises In The Dark

With personalia so alone
From Robin’s egg blue you have flown
So much pressure and hurt I’ve known
You have left and I’m on my own
Have to surround myself with friends
So this loneliness has to end

The world is black and I’m so gaunt
I’ve thrown myself out and avaunt
You were such an outrageous flaunt
Cutting me to pieces to taunt
And lowering my self esteem
A nightmare not a pleasant dream

Holding a switchblade to protect
Without respect my life you wrecked
One phone call you want to connect
No more please if I want respect
Learn my lesson have to move on
Can’t go through pain again, be gone!*
