Thursday photo prompt: Painted #writephoto

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Naming the Trees” by Bruce Guernsey: roots, earth, war, maple, oak, poplar, shiny, skinny, mute, shade, sounding, weeping

Maple tree
Weeping willow as well
Poplar, oak and all the leaves rustle
Underneath the shade a boy sleeping soundly
The earth might shake or there is a war
Not a care in the world
He sleeps
Rooted there
On painted paradise
Water lilies underneath the bridge
Shine as the sun rays hit them and the water mute
Lullaby for the skinny boy
Ah, heaven!*

  1. How beautifully you have written your poem. This takes me back to my childhood when the most exciting thing was to run down to the river and take our shoes and socks of and wade in the river and try to catch the liitle fish that swam around us.
