Sunday Writing Prompt – 16th August – Carnival

img_0435

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Absolute” by Jacqueline Woodson: summer, braids, enough, line, must, feet, fingers, mirror, shifts, suddenly, again, magic

Oh what fun in the carnival
Summer, braids on my hair
Magic music that blares
Again so farcical
Line up in Arsenal
Enough fun in the fair

I’m all feet and fingers
I’m all young suddenly
Must take it luckily
It shifts as I linger
Some swingers and singers
Mirror and company

Carnival like magic
Life isn’t that tragic*
