The wickless candle

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Mistletoe” by Walter de la Mare: candle, kissed, sleepy, lips, dancers, mistletoe, lonely, nodding, lurking, footsteps, air, gone

As the wickless candle flickered

And outside some footsteps lurking

Lovers kissed under mistletoe

Dancers nodding to each other

Lonely girl and sleepy brother

Air so warm and the candle glow

Worries gone and life’s wonderful

As we believe it’s colourful

And we basked in the afterglow*
