snow one day, so cold
sunshine and the apple blooms
spring at last!
nice to have colours
yellow, green, purple and red
instead of just white
enough snow for us all
anticipate what’s coming
birds sing before dawn
like musical orchestra
they brighten the day
peepers are small frogs
peepers emit mating call
melody of night
fragrance of flowers
air of spring brings health and life
rain comes on the wind

The silhouette of the trees by the lake
The fog enveloping the scene as I look
No birds tweeting, all’s peaceful by the brook
New hope for the morning as the dawn breaks
Winter must be tired and spring awakes
All flowers bloom like in a storybook
The silhouette of the trees by the lake
The fog enveloping the scene as I look
Tortoises are up, happy for their sake
Warblers are singing in their cosy nook
Crocuses and daffodils overtook
Tulips and snowdrops are also awake
The silhouette of the trees by the lake*

- Rondel

white bubbles of froth jostle in the lake
witch hazels and yew harbinger of spring
trudging through the greens, life in stake
they crush inward without any break
psittacism speech together they sing
white bubbles of froth jostle in the lake
hoping toes not be bitten by snake
hoping also not a dross they make
trudging through the greens, life in stake
pouring their hearts out, not fake
together they’re equally beaming
white bubbles of froth jostle in the lake
the situation they both partake
what they’re doing is baffling
trudging through the greens, life in stake
hope they win for both their sake
for this is real, never a fling
white bubbles of froth jostle in the lake
trudging through the greens, life in stake**

OH MY GOSH, Lady Lee, what wonderful poems, pictures, quotes. I love the quote by Victory Hugo. Why have spring if you don’t love people? LOL Did you write your villanelle? If so, you should definitely take credit for it. I use the little copyright sign, the date and my name now that I know how to do the symbol. If you don’t know it’s just Press Number Lock, Hold down Alt and enter 0169. The symbol automatically appears. Villanelles are so hard to write, that if it’s yours, you should be SO proud. Thanks again for joining in this week. I’ve missed you! 🙂

So was that last poem yours? I used to write tons of Villanelles. Love them.
