THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Bobolink” by Didi Jackson: flowers, grasses, wings, yellow, brown, stained, braided, waited, worried, lift, take, strips
Brown skin and braided hair
Hair with flowers stuck
Stuck here and she doesn’t care
Care she takes with good luck
Reading books of thrills and romance
Romance she’s been waiting
Waiting for her knight to come
Come and lift her, life’s amazing
Lying on the grass, not to worry
Worry she had last year
Year of shielding and clipped wings
Wings of freedom hopefully without any fear
Oh what fun and how
How was it different from yesterday?
Yesterday with stained yellow dress
Dress up for dinner, enjoy the escapade*
