#WQWWC #35 Exciting

Such a lovely day on a beautiful tropical paradise. Enjoying my time walking on a nice sandy beach. From the beachfront cottage I have some gorgeous views of the ocean. Snorkelling is fun and exciting. House reef is fantastic. Sea water is crystalline and very clear. Swimming with the fish, that’s heaven! A school of fish, barracuda, angel fish, sting rays, jelly fish, small shark, and fish of different species and colours. It is just amazing!

with bare feet
strolling along the beach
with Him, that’s heaven

Moments come, moments go, regrets I have a few
Too few that I won’t bother mentioning them
I could queue or brew but never feel blue
Hope my high spirit doesn’t lead to a mayhem

As I pirouetted and moonwalked across the room
I also fluttered around, overwhelmed by things around
I just do things the way I like them – vroom and zoom
Treat each place like a playground or campground

I was just as resolute in my resolve not to be miserable
That I will appreciate the diminutive things in life
And even if I fail, I don’t mind and just be as graceful
Perhaps my lack of shame is going to get me into strife

Play and laugh with children, don’t neglect them
I decided to remain positive even on cloudy days
To achieve surprise, I’ve learned how to use stratagem
Life is exciting, I’ve learned to be just as amaze

Even when something has been stained and spilled
Or broken, I just have to pick up the pieces and move on
I’m always thrilled, don’t see my life as unfulfilled
I can go on and on, I think it best to comment thereon

Don’t forget, it’s a great, wonderful life we have
It provided me for the rest of my life with a salve

If I were to write a novel
All the intrigues but then blissful
Some with regrets and with torn hearts
Brindled and fleeting on some parts

With flowers and dangers for some
Nothing left unturned, not a crumb
Gobbled up by conflict, top of the chart
Bridled and fleeting on some parts

A cargo full of eclectic and exciting bits
Can’t wait to publish, hope it’s such a hit
I hope it’s got some lessons to impart
Bridled and fleeting on some parts

If I were to write a novel
Bridled and fleeting on some parts

I will meet you at the top of the coconut tree
parade at the tables, watch the triumph round thee
fun to go up the tree and get its coconut
fresh coconut plus other stuff for a banquet
where we can drink its water and eat the flesh
gosh! amazing feeling when I’m so fresh
as fresh as can be on this warm summer day
Oh, as splendid and exciting as a glorious day
the tree itself is very useful in giving us shade
you can be jolly and dance with it as it swayed
too much sun and will definitely burn our skin
I forgot to check my brain for muffins
even if I’m stuck in this island I’ll be alright
happy to commune with nature by the moonlight

Yay for spring! We never really have spring nor do winter, nor do autumn, just summer all year. That’s the Philippines for you, only two seasons, wet and dry. Temperatures nearly the same every day, the sun rises and sets also at the same time. I’m not saying I’m bored with it, but it’s also nice to experience the different seasons, to be cold, to be warm, to change tyres from winter to summer ones, to shovel snow, to clear all the falling leaves, to have some grill in the garden with friends in the summer and so on. Anyway, back to spring. Spring is my favourite season here in Europe. I love when the snow disappears and the weather starts being warm. We see the blossoms, new leaves and flowers wakening up, birds singing, the sun’s shining, time to get our bikes out and enjoy cycling, tulip, daffodil, crocus, lily of the valley, hyacinth, blue bell – simply wonderful!

as the sun shines
sweet spring, enjoy life’s offer
a welcoming sight

buds coming out
take time to smell the flowers
sweet-smelling spring

One more day to illuminate
Me on the priorities of life
I don’t want to be a dead weight
And I don’t want any strife

One more day to storm
The challenges and hindrances
I’m sure I could still perform
What’s all this fuzz?

One more day to pool
Resources for the common good
I don’t want to be cruel
With the frosty weather I withstood

One more day to create
Significant impact on you
I need you, I tell it straight
Before I say adieu

One more day to haunt
Me with the scenes of our lives
I have no wealth to flaunt
We’ll see each in our afterlives

One more day to need
One last kiss before I’m lifeless
My very last good deed
Before I spin the axis

One more day to pay
The price of my sins
There must be some way
To play the violins

  1. Lady Lee, you put so much effort into each post you create. I’m listening to the music as I write this comment. It is so beautiful and I’ve never heard it. I also never heard of a house reef. Your last poem seemed so sad yet hopeful. I love the quote of Andy Warhol about waiting for something making it more exciting. How true that is. In your last poem, your protagonist waited for death and wanted to learn to play violins before it happened. As usual, lots to think about here. LL. Thanks for joining in. 🙂

      1. We have a small but mighty group, Lady Lee. Each of you respond so uniquely and are so faithful, it encourages and inspires me. I’ll look forward to your post for this week. I loved your music, too. 🙂
