#WRITEPHOTO – Cliff Edge

Cliff Edge – Image by KL Caley
For visually challenged writersthe image shows a high area of rock with a very steep side, often on a coast. The cliff has a grassy top. The sea can be seen further out.

On the brink of the cliff hanging
Over a wide river she stood
Gazing at the sky, heart aching

Long walk of memories sting
Road of being misunderstood
On the brink of the cliff hanging

Broken promises, heart bleeding
Expectation not what it should
Gazing at the sky, heart aching

In the summer and in the spring
Tried to make amends as they could
On the brink of the cliff hanging

It didn’t work and so baffling
Together of unlikelihood
Gazing at the sky, heart aching

They have to move on, that’s the thing
It’s for the best for what it should
On the brink of the cliff hanging
Gazing at the sky, heart aching*
