Portal – Image by Rebecca M. Douglass
For visually challenged writersthe image shows a puddle with leaves and trees reflected in the surface.

I carry your heart by the lake
Shiver I feel and all the ache
How I wish you were here with me
Keeping ourselves warm by woodstove
Some are fading, stories we wove
Through the portal as we both flee
There’s no doubt our pulse are beating
Unlike the otter when basking
We agree and that is the key

A moment
A place in a distant
When we could go where we want to be

Transforming us to a new world, to go boldly
Intricate plots and adventure, a rhapsody

And with conviction, we change in shape
Like some form of escape
Eating grape
