Festive Quotes

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Private Property” by Analicia Sotelo: drink, swim, look, bubbly, sage, broken, sprinkler, music, joking, violet, towel, stories

Sprinkler in the yard

Or swim with lifeguard

Smell roses and violet

The look in his eyes

Gives me all the highs

Little rocky rivulet

Bubbly and joking

Time to be hoping

Stories of love and fun

Food, drinks and music

Wear my best tunic

Peace and love to everyone*

what an amazing life – full of colours
in an acre of land, green, yellow, red
paint spread like a peaceful bank ambler
and everywhere and anywhere to head

vibrant colours of butterfly
we can classify each a piece
the flowers that are blossoming
the joy they bring for us

vegetables in market stalls
first view enthral us, that’s no fuss
an actress who’s like a showpiece
go in peace, it’s a plus

our life is brilliant, together we live
enjoy festive times when it’s possible
to be able to be kind and forgive
of course, to give one another sizzle

range of talent, ambler, reader, actor
to add author, nurse and someone that led
and to bake bread as well as a biker
wave a banner for concord to spread

It’s the season to be merry
Christmas market and lights to see
A festive one
So have some fun
Don’t forget to have a shopping spree

Love is all around us, actually
Spread it everywhere with glee
You and me and all
Quite cold, you need a shawl
A season for malt wine and brandy

The Fasching Party
It started on the 11th hour of
The 11th of November, a pre-Lenten
Celebrated in grand style in Bavaria.
It culminated into Fasching week which
Began the week before Ash Wednesday.
People celebrated in costume at various
Carnival community events and individual parties.
Carnival parades abound, it was literally the weekend
For people to live it up. Fasching Parties were interesting.
Last week I was dressed up as a leopard and it took me forever
Say half an hour to put the right make up and the costume as a leopard.
It was held in a community hall. There was a theme, and it was the Jungle Theme.
People came as lions, tigers, elephants and so on. Others didn’t bother with the
Theme and came dressed up as they wanted: as pirates, gypsies, prisoners,
Princes and princesses, letting their imaginations ran wild. It was fun!
There were prizes for the best costume – I won the second prize!
The tigress had the first prize. I didn’t mind at all. I loved it!
Fasching parties were originally held to drive away winter
And all its evil spirits. It provided a festive season
Of food and fun before the Lenten fasting period.
I wonder what the theme would be next year?

It’s the season to be jolly
On a snowy day and we’re free
Horses eating hay for their tea

We’ve bought our Christmas tree and decorated with bright lights
We’ve been good and made our lists for Santa in our handwrites
Hope he comes, we leave him some mince pies on Christmas midnight

Wrapped presents under the tree
Busy with shopping spree
Hope Santa fits in chimney

Carrot for reindeer
Would Santa like beer?
To our health for cheer

This is our Christmas
Excitement endless
All so rambunctious*

The Christ-in-a-Rhyme

It is the season to be merry
And to share some of our goody
Let’s think of the poor and the homeless
And in our own ways, show our kindness
We could bake, make or cook something sweet and tasty

Christmas cocktails, mulled wine or punch
With family or loved ones for lunch
Visiting a lonely neighbour
Treating children for chips and burger
Ringing our mother and sending her flower bunch

Spreading love and happiness
Makes us happy that’s a bonus
Celebrate the birth of our Lord
Making music in our keyboard
It’s the time to be courageous and boisterous

  1. Love the quote by Bing Crosby. Great song choice, Lady Lee. I’ve never heard it, and the video looks so cold and traditional. It kind of goes with Story Chat this month. Congratulations on your award-winning costume. I’m sure you made a stunning leopard. A super festive post for this week. 🙂
