Romance and Love Quotes

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Beloved” by E. Ethelbert Miller: forgive, outside, look, told, stay, words, need, heart, miss, warmth, unlock, door

What a way to unlock my heart

Warmth you give and being smart

Stay with me no matter what

Through thick and thin there is no but, nor to depart

Flowers you plant outside my door

Words you utter which I adore

Forgive each other when we err

Need to tell each other we care all with candour

Look on your eyes when you see me

And when we kiss we’re full of glee

Together face life’s challenge

Up and down we try to balance life with a plea*

It was the day you said hello
First thing in the morning that was
The lab you were about to show
We were introduced, then a pause

First thing in the morning that was
I was the new girl in the lab
We were introduced, then a pause
City was a bit of a drab

I was the new girl in the lab
And you were such a gentleman
City was a bit of a drab
You showed it to me like a fan

And you were such a gentleman
Showered me all your attention
You showed it to me like a fan
With friends, we had a lot of fun

Showered me all your attention
Till the last day of the training
With friends, we had a lot of fun
And from a distance, love we bring

Till the last day of the training
Two years later we got married
And from a distance, love we bring
After thirty years, love we lead

Two years later we got married
The lab you were about to show
After thirty years, love we lead
It was the day you said hello**

** The pantoum

Our midnight in the oasis
We met, laugh, like a poem in ryhthm
On the ground and feeling the sands on our body
Ritual on regular basis

Basis of love and loyalty
Like a gift that our elders have taught us
Turning each other the best we could ever be
In nature with our deity

Deity we swear until we die
Whatever happens we’ll be with each one
Respect and being truthful play important parts
All other rules also apply

Apply romance, send me flowers
No tongue in cheek, nor dishonesty
With the moon and the stars as our witness
In the oasis, midnight – ours***

  1. Sweet poems, Lady Lee. I love your pantoum. Those are such fun and kind of difficult to write so that they make sense. You are a pro at them. 🙂 Great post for Love and Romance. Happy Valentine’s Day, my friend. 🙂
