I dreamt of U again
The second time this month
U were wearing a flowing white wedding gown
Barefoot, long hair cascading
U were running
U were coming down the stairs
I know who U were
U were Maria Clara
U were supposed to get married
But the groom didn’t turn up
He was on his way to the church
He was captured by the Spanish Civil Guards
They accused him of rebellion
And sentenced to be hanged
U went to see him in prison
But U were denied of that right
U went berserk
U tried to kill the guard
The guard shot U
That was tragic

What a tragedy, but sometimes they are good for a change of pace. I like how you utilized today’s letter. Thanks for visiting my blog.

That is tragic. I googled Maria Clara only after reading your poem today…I believe it’s a fictional character? Yet a strong and painful depiction
Dropping by from a to z “The Pensive”
