Every winter has its spring

Jumpers and wooly coats

Winter’s here

Evening gets darker and colder

Staying home with my notes

And my dear

We’re cosy shoulder to shoulder

Fresh air in the morning

Close windows

Don’t forget our scarf and hat

Cold but the sun’s shining

Two shadows

Slipped in the snow and fell flat

Getting used to winter

Always here

It’s not that bad I always say

My laptop and printer

Beer and cheer

In the mountain we can bobsleigh*

  • The Tri-fall, created by Jan Turner, consists three 6-line stanzas, for a total of 18 lines. The rhyme scheme is a,b,c,a,b,c and meter for each stanza is as follows: 6/3/8, 6/3/8. This form requires little to no punctuation and can be written on any subject matter.

Many moons ago, when HRH the son was around 4, we decided to have a skiing holiday in Austria. It was a really nice skiing resort and the son had free skiing lessons in the children’s club for 4 days. That meant, Him Indoors and I had some free time to ourselves. The sun was shining, snow covered the hills and mountains, leaves had fallen and such a bright day. We walked around and watched the son and the other children learned to ski. We watched other people skiing and snow-boarding.

Leaves had fallen
On a cold and snowy day
Wonderful winter

On cold winter nights I drink some tea
Warm mulled wine when there’s snow
Outside during Christmas holiday
And in the evenings watching some show

I love drinking green tea with honey
With ginger or lemon, too
And I bought myself a new teapot
With tea leaves I’ll wait for them to brew

I’m not really a coffee drinker
I drink it at the weekends
Sundays with our full English breakfast
Or in the coffee shop with some friends**

  1. Beautiful, Lady Lee. I’m listening to the lovely song as I write. I’ve never heard it before. I loved these lines,

    “Evening gets darker and colder

    Staying home with my notes

    And my dear

    We’re cosy shoulder to shoulder”
That’s what I enjoy about winter, too. Great picture of you all wrapped up, too! 🙂
