Five days into the new year and her New Year’s resolutions already seemed doomed. No alcohol, no smoking, eat healthily, be fit – these are some of her resolutions. But it was Ginny’s birthday yesterday, so they had to celebrate! And what better way to bring cheers to the celebrant with a bottle of Champagne. And of course, she cannot say no because she’s Ginny’s best mate. Oh well, there’s always the next day, or the day after the next and the promise, one more time and that was it, really …this time next year… she’ll be really good with her New Year’s resolution.

The door is open and goes both ways
Plus and minus, give and take, best to compromise
Opportunity knocks only once
Take it if given chance
Pros and cons
Experience is better
Love and lost? Learn the lesson, move on

Lovely and funny at the same time, Lady Lee. Your personality shines through your poetry. Have a great New Year always striving. That’s why I love Word of the Year. I’m less likely to forget it or cheat or leave it behind entirely. It has to be just the right word – not too specific, not too vague. Thanks for your loyal contributions each week.
