To have the world at our fingertips

It probably means we could have the opportunities

Especially with all the information around us

We have access to a lot of different things

We could do or be anything we wanted to be

The world in the palm of our hands when it’s also our oyster

Happy New Year everyone

Let’s toast and celebrate

Time for a new year’s resolution

Visualize and illuminate

Health is at stake, avoid dumplings

Happy New Year everyone

Value of a voyage and fun

With Him Indoors of course

Let’s toast and celebrate

Enjoy tea with my new teacup

Enjoy the little things in life

Time for a new year’s resolution*

New resolution

For absolution

Try to change for the better

Eat healthy, be fit

And try not to quit

Just salad with bell pepper

Never say never

Don’t be too clever

Acceptance and tolerance

Equal rights for all

Just having a ball

And hope we’re all prosperous**

Five days into the new year and her New Year’s resolutions already seemed doomed. No alcohol, no smoking, eat healthily, be fit – these are some of her resolutions. But it was Ginny’s birthday yesterday, so they had to celebrate! And what better way to bring cheers to the celebrant with a bottle of Champagne. And of course, she cannot say no because she’s Ginny’s best mate. Oh well, there’s always the next day, or the day after the next and the promise, one more time and that was it, really …this time next year… she’ll be really good with her New Year’s resolution.

In and out
Giving and receiving
The door is open and goes both ways
Plus and minus, give and take, best to compromise
Opportunity knocks only once
Take it if given chance
Pros and cons
Experience is better
Love and lost? Learn the lesson, move on
Challenges are great, so are opportunities
Beginning is always the hardest
Rise every time we fall
Don’t give up***

Lovely and funny at the same time, Lady Lee. Your personality shines through your poetry. Have a great New Year always striving. That’s why I love Word of the Year. I’m less likely to forget it or cheat or leave it behind entirely. It has to be just the right word – not too specific, not too vague. Thanks for your loyal contributions each week. It’s a joy to read. and get to know you better.
