Holding me captive won’t make me love you…

Holding me captive won’t make me love you

Mingling of my tears out of the blue

The juxtaposition of two realities

Wicked even trying to appease

All these things I can’t fall through

Charm as you may on a scale hitherto

We could be in London or Katmandu

Are you counting all the casualties?

Holding me captive

All the chaos I want just to flew

Of mice and men and coffee to brew

To feel in my face the sea breeze

To eat some crackers and blue cheese

This hiding place in my mind all askew

Holding me captive*

*A Rondeau is a French form, 15 lines long, consisting of three stanzas: a quintet, a quatrain, and a sestet with a rhyme scheme as follows: aabba aabR aabbaR. Lines 9 and 15 are short – a refrain (R) consisting of a phrase taken from line one. The other lines are longer (but all of the same metrical length).
