Imagine a world with no bridge
Forget crossing the other side
No swinging as agile or spry
As you thump your fist to your heart
And as I plague you with questions
Imagine a world with no bridge
No spraying graffiti on walls
The real drama is on tap
We go through our lives everyday
Meeting lots of people and foes
Imagine a world with no bridge
Tough if we get stuck on one side
If there’s no bridge to cross over
How do we know there’s other side?
That we can venture out and taste?
Imagine a world with no bridge*

From the bridge comes the reflection
Artificial lights and tall trees
Snow on the ground and on branches
The air cools and the crickets sing
Will he be there waiting for me?
From the bridge comes the reflection
Will he be glad to see me back?
Life’s strange but I know I’m back
I’ve been through a lot of journeys
Went through all the seasons of life
From the bridge comes the reflection
But I know I’m coming back home
The lights dance, too by the canal
Welcoming me in open arms
I’ve learned my lessons, hope’s not late
From the bridge comes the reflection*

Accept what it is, let go of what was
And have faith of what will be
For that’s the way the world goes
Learn the lesson, stand up, move on
A bridge will take us from pain to change
A bridge will take us to the other side
A bridge will be an opportunity, a metaphor
So let’s cross the bridge when we see one

I enjoyed all of your choices for photos and your original poems. We chose two of the same quotes by others.

These are wonderful poems, Lady Lee. I love this line, “From the bridge comes the reflection.” That’s true in so many different ways. We see reflections in the water. Sometimes we stand on the bridge and stare mesmerized into the water reflecting on life, nature, the sound, and feel the coolness of the air over the water. It was a line worth repeating! 🙂 Excellent pictures, too. You have been to so many places.
