“I’d rather be a little bit different than more of the same”

Remember this one lovely, lonely soul?
We used to be in college together
Still confused about things as she stroll
She dialled his number, there was no answer
“What’s wrong with me?” herself she can’t console
Just to hear his voice even if he errs
Couldn’t sleep, becoming an insomniac
Like a thief in the night, she wants him back

The trees around cleanse her mind, made her calm
She knows she herself is her defender
Be unruffled like a reader of a psalm
And in her life, she is the sole author
For brighter future she has no qualm*

A Ottava Rima

“Crazy
I’m crazy for feeling so lonely
I’m crazy
Crazy for feeling so blue..”

There goes my mother with her “Crazy” song, her favourite! Every time we are together and people start singing, she has to be there, too. She sings it with all the emotion one mutters, all the pain and the memories with my father. She will be eighty five this year and her children and grandchildren from Canada, UK and Germany are flying to the Philippines to celebrate it with her. It’s going to be a big party and of course, she’s singing her “Crazy” song.

I’d rather be a little bit different

Than follow the trend of the rest

I am me and I love being me

Could be quirky, could be shy

Could be difficult, could be fun

I love my own company

Of course I have some friends, too

I stick to my own beliefs no matter what

Equality, freedom, happiness for all

And I know there’s hope for all of us

I love your attitude toward life LL, and all the pics you share for Sunday Stills! You’re a great example of this prompt because you know yourself and love life! Good reminder about that song too!
