“The sun has come out and the air is vivid with spring light”

apple blossoms in full bloom
on such a beautiful day

winter birds depart
swallows and house martins sing
birdsongs in the air

ornamental cherries in bloom
blossoms create magic sight

carpets of blue bells
found in woodlands at their peak
pretty wild flowers

daffodils are popping out
cheerful bulbs burst into life

so called “mad March hare”
these shy creatures can be seen
boxing in the fields

all the signs of spring are here
rejoice and let’s welcome it

fragrance of flowers
air of spring brings health and life
rain comes on the wind

See the flowers bloom
Get rid of the gloom
Our days are getting longer
Warblers are singing
And we’re out biking
And the sky, is it clearer?
Tortoises are out
They’re walking about
Crocuses and daffodils
Tulips and snowdrops
Garden as backdrops
Spring’s here

Our first year anniversary
We were still students
And we were starving students
So we booked a cheap hovercraft
That was one spring in Paris
Lived on baguette, wine and cheese
Walked along the River Seine
Hand in hand, waited for the sunset

Went to Musee d’Orsay, we loved it
All the paintings of Monet, Manet, Renoir
Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” and Renoir’s “Bal..”
Spent a lot of time at the garden of Rodin
Sat and contemplated with “The Thinker”
It was a sunny day and we had fun
Climbed up the Eifel Tower, what a view
“We’ll always have Paris,” we promised

Oh what a night when you were there
Loud rap music was such a blare
People were coming and going
Singing and dancing with spring

You were a dream and I love it
Hand in hand we walked by moonlit
I don’t know if it’s just a fling
Singing and dancing with spring

Time seemed to be never-ending
We talked and we kept on swaying
Made me laugh and I was beaming
Singing and dancing with spring

Dancing is one way to lose weight
Who knows one day I’d be lightweight
It also keeps me from ageing
Singing and dancing with spring

In the Philippines, we never really have spring, winter or autumn, just summer all year. Only two seasons, wet and dry. Temperatures nearly the same every day, the sun rises and sets at the same time. I’m not saying I’m bored with it, but it’s also nice to experience the different seasons, to be cold, to be warm, to change tyres from winter to summer ones, to shovel snow, to clear all the falling leaves, to have some grill in the garden with friends in the summer and so on. I can’t wait for spring, which is my favourite season in Europe. I love when the snow disappears and the weather starts being warm. I love the blossoms, new leaves and flowers wakening up, birds singing, the sun’s shining. It’s time to get our bikes out and enjoy cycling, and more flowers blooming – tulip, daffodil, crocus, lily of the valley, hyacinth, blue bell – simply wonderful!

as the sun shines
sweet spring, enjoy life’s offer
a welcoming sight

buds coming out
take time to smell the flowers
sweet-smelling spring

Cycled to Waldwirtschaft
We had beer and Brezen
The weather was brilliant
Our favourite jazz band

Cycled to the forest
With joggers and cyclists
Children having ice-cream
Cycled to Waldwirtschaft

People having picnic
Grilled fish or pork with chips
Lovely tune from the band
We had beer and Brezen

Crossed over the bridge
Passed by the River Isar
Swimming and kayaking
The weather was brilliant

Saxophone and trumpet
Trombone, bass and guitar
Fun listening to jazz
Our favourite jazz band

Always love the way you weave your own poems and writings. I also enjoyed the very first quote you shared about the air being vivid with spring light.
