Sunday in Ostpark

Hello everyone! We cycled to Ostpark yesterday and spent the morning by the lake, drinking beer, eating ice-cream, looking at the ducks and swans and just enjoying a lovely day.

This week we are celebrating the first wedding anniversary of HRH the son and his beautiful K. They are now in Barcelona and last night they watched the game at Camp Nou. FC Barcelona won, yay! Best wishes to the couple and many more years to share together. We love you.

HRH the son’s birthday!

sunshine

Hello everyone! This week we’re celebrating HRH the son’s birthday – 25 years – hip, hip, hurray!!! Happy birthday, son and many happy returns of the day!

HRH the son

The time really went so fast
We can still remember all the years
His first words that gave us cheers
The first time he crawled and walked
The first time he rode his bicycle
His first day of school with a big bag
Karate, music, choir, kung-fu, guitar
When we reminisce them they bring tears

snow 023

From primary years to senior years
He was showing some independence
Lots of friends, loves Maths and Science
Learns to drive, happy to have his license
Friends stayed overnight and had fun
Activities in school, soon time to leave
To another country to have his degree
We surely miss him but we had to let him go

wordless

Happy we all are
When the son rang and said
She said yes and soon they be wed
Gave her a charming sapphire ring
Lovely in her hands so they went-ahead

We are happy, Him Indoor and I
We can feel the son is so happy
We are happy he found his Sweetie
She’s very lovely, we all agree
They can plan their future, all coolly
We’re happy to share with you all
Something positive and exciting
The world is wonderful and brightly

Thank you for all the things we’ve had
Him Indoors, son and K plus my mother
Brothers and sister and all their families, too
We’re all healthy, I have to add

Add to that the places we’ve been
Last week we were in Bamberg that was fun
And in June, we’d be in the UK and Malta
Problems, we take it on the chin

Chin up for all the love we’ve got
Our friends and families are always there
Thank you social media for sharing all our news
And all the things we have besought

Besought heaven and earth for peace
Let there be kindness and understanding
No matter what the differences are, there is hope
This poem I share as my piece*

Happy Easter Monday everyone! Hope you are all fine. Him Indoors and I had a quiet and contemplative Holy Week/Easter holiday week. The weather was fine on some days, that’s when we cycled or did some gardening. When it wasn’t that good, we stayed inside and did some chores and other hobbies. I was able to write/blog a lot. I managed to write some poems.

I’m very grateful that my mother is fine in the Philippines. Through messenger, we video chat almost every day. My aunt was able to stay with her and together they visited some churches and went to Bulacan to see the passion play. My brother and his family were also able to join them.

HRH the son and his beautiful K went to see Southampton v Manchester football game. They said they had a great time. OK, Southampton lost, but that’s another story.

That’s it from me. Have a lovely week everyone!

Crazy for feeling so blue…

“Crazy
I’m crazy for feeling so lonely
I’m crazy
Crazy for feeling so blue..”

There goes my mother with her “Crazy” song, her favourite! Every time we are together and people start singing, she has to be there, too. She sings it with all the emotion one mutters, all the pain and the memories with my father. She will be eighty this year and her children and grandchildren from Canada, UK and Germany are flying to the Philippines to celebrate it with her. It’s going to be a big party and of course, she’s singing her “Crazy” song.
