#JusJoJan Daily Prompt – January 26th, 2018 – Address

He looked at the letter. Over and over again. Maybe he was dreaming. This was too good to be true! Life had been rough recently. He checked again, if the letter was really addressed to him. If this was true, it would change everything.

It would change his life. He could get away from this poverty, buy a new car, even move house.

“Right, Martin, you’ve read the letter and it was addressed to you. That means, you’ve won the lottery – hip, hip, hurray!” said Darkie, who was wearing some black leather sexy outfit, with holes at the side of the dress held by pins.

“Hang on a minute, Darkie … the truth was the ticket wasn’t really his, right, Martin? Didn’t the good old neighbour, Mrs. Smith gave you some money and asked you to buy her that lottery ticket? But you forgot to give her the ticket.” That was Divs talking, who was wearing a simple white dress, which covered her from neck to toes, her hair braided with a white bow.

“But you could always tell the old lady you forgot to buy her the ticket and probably give her money back,” whispered Darkie to Martin’s left ear, her breath smelled like strawberries and her lips so inviting.

“I’m sure the decent way was to tell her the truth, who knows, she might share her winnings!” persuaded Divs. “Come on, Martin, I’ve always known you doing the right thing!”

“Think of all the good stuff you could have, new car, move house, away from this dilapidated flats with weird neighbours – and you could woo Estelle now.” Darkie seducing Martin with her looks.

“But Martin, would you be able to live with lies, with the guilty feeling that you deprived Mrs. Smith of her winnings, which might pay for her medicines and so on? Think about it, Martin,” replied Divs.

“The two of you, please leave me alone. Can a man think for himself?” And so Darkie and Divs left Martin in peace. If you were Martin, what would you do?

#JusJoJan Daily Prompt – January 23rd, 2018 – Colour

the rainbow of love
a wonderful sensation
love is all around
we just have to look for it
we can spread it like the wind

exquisite colours
rainbow in a butterfly
spins with the wind
fluttering, flickering, too
showing its lovely colours

pureness of the heart and soul
wholesomeness and awe
love is in kind deeds, warm heart
it is also in sharing

rain gives us blessing
multi-coloured rainbow’s out
promising some hope
gold at the end of rainbow
don’t lose hope, we’re nearly there

My feet brought me to this dirt
Don’t know why it gives me comfort
A creek where no one swims
Is this society’s urban paradigm?

No children playing
Nor dogs barking
Even birds have departed
All we see is flood and mud

People left their detritus
After eating chips with fish
Milk cartons and bricks
Just to get their kicks

Sometimes even shopping carts
Development thwarted
Left my car, diary not so full
When my mind so roomful

Time to think, to reflect
Perhaps there’s a new prospect
On love, work and other themes
While I’m walking by the stream

#JusJoJan Daily Prompt – Jan. 30th/17 – blue

A lovely afternoon and we are walking up the mountain. The wind brushes my hair, the scents of the flowers in the air and we can hear birds singing. A chill creeps into the air, but just a nip to let us know a new season is at hand.

all over the hill
the scent of blooming bluebell
blue wild hyacinth

blue wild hyacinth
as we walk up the mountain
swaying with the wind

swaying with the wind
soon the hill will be aflame
riot of gold and red

Don’t turn around, there’s a ghost
Strange feeling all over
Dust unsettled over there
Rough day ahead for us all

Do not turn around, there’s a ghost
Almost strange but not for her
Maher doesn’t mind, she’s dusting
Asking rough questions, feeling the blue
Do not turn around, there’s a ghost

you rang
out of the blue
my yang

at peace
with humankind
one piece

#JusJoJan Daily Prompt – Jan. 29th/17 – History

I love you and that’s the key
And as long as you love me

You make my life so wonderful
Don’t care where you’re from, we’re blissful

Doesn’t matter ‘bout your history
We get on fine and you make me glee

I’m sure we can face the world together
I’m so happy with you, you’re a dazzler

With you, we can explore and challenge, for sure
And there’s such a thing as a forevermore

there’s an eerie feeling
and the light’s so bright at the window
spirits are uneasy, if only they could talk
an abandoned house with history
what was it, we don’t know

war or peace, night or day
a clandestine affair
furtive meeting of a secret club
an untrustworthy deal that went horribly wrong
or it was an old ancestral home
where children grew and left
not came back

#SoCS and #JusJoJan Jan. 28/17 – “wood/would”

I shoulda walked naked in the streets with head high
I woulda rock and roll as loud as I coulda at home
I shoulda surf the waves with glee in the lake
I woulda fall in love with the guy hundred times
Like I was in cloud nine all the times
I wish I shoulda woulda coulda
But life is tough and I’m a coward
So I shouldn’t wouldn’t couldn’t

Wouldn’t it be good if you’re here?
Holding my hand to give me cheer
Watch the world as they slowly pass
And on the table our wineglass by the pier

Wouldn’t it be suave if we dance?
The light of the moon, that’s romance
You look into my eyes and how
My heart is beating fast somehow, like I’m in trance

Wouldn’t it be nice if we talk?
Like there’s no one else on the block
We have the whole time to ourselves
Reading poetry from the shelves and stay ad hoc

Wouldn’t it be great if we stay?
Like this forever and a day
And the challenges we can take
And all the best that we can make, we both say aye
