Tuesday Photo Challenge – Place

Of all the places in the world, my favourite is my home. Where is home? Home is where Him Indoors, I and HRH the son live. It’s full of love, affection and fun. Ideally it is here in Bavaria, but it could also be anywhere. OK, HRH the son has left us but he still comes back from time to time, and he comes back with his beautiful K.

home is happy
home is cosy
home is warm
home doesn’t regret
home doesn’t mind sharing
home grows with love

it doesn’t matter
where or what is home
home is with Him Indoors
and HRH the son
our three tortoises
our flowers in the grden
things we share
experience and memories
I love our home!

Him Indoors and I
HRH the son and K
happy together

in the garden
Gin, Rex, Nik – our tortoises
eating lettuces

flowers, herbs and trees
butterflies, hedgehogs and birds
garden full of fun

he loves gardening
I love writing and cooking
we love cycling, too

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

Hello everyone! We stayed in Marina Bay Sands for one night when we were in Singapore. It was a wonderful experience!

The resort includes a 2,561-room hotel, a 120,000-square-metre (1,300,000 sq ft) convention-exhibition centre, the 74,000 m2 (800,000 sq ft) The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands mall, a museum, two large theatres, “celebrity chef” restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, art-science exhibits, and the world’s largest atrium casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines (Wikipedia).

Our room was on the 20th floor of the first tower. Here’s the view from our room.

A distinctive feature of the hotel is the SkyPark, a three-acre park on top of the building with swimming pools, gardens, and jogging paths. The structure bridges all three towers with a segment cantilevered off the north tower. The hull of the SkyPark was pre-fabricated off-site in 14 separate steel sections and then assembled on top of the towers. (Wikipedia)

The SkyPark has the world’s longest elevated swimming pool, with a 146-metre (478 ft)vanishing edge, called infinity pool located 191 metres above ground. The pools are made up of 422,000 pounds of stainless steel and can hold 376,500 gallons (1424 cubic metres) of water. The SkyPark also has rooftop celebrity chef restaurants, nightclubs, gardens, hundreds of trees and plants, and a public observatory deck on the cantilever with 360-degree views of the Singapore skyline. (Wikipedia)

We had breakfast on the rooftop. It was delightful!

Singapore at night!

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is an open-air museum and heritage park in Bagac, Bataan, Philippines. Spread over 400 hectares, the park features a collection of 27 Spanish Colonial buildings and stone houses (bahay na bato in Tagalog), planned to resemble a settlement reminiscent of the period. These houses were carefully dismantled, brick by brick, transplanted from different parts of the Philippines and rehabilitated in these premises, to resemble the original structure. For parts that were missing, woodwork and bricks were replicated to resemble the original structure. For this, the Ciudad employs a workforce of 130 people, including 10 wood sculptors, three metal sculptors, 30 craftsmen who design ceilings, and construction workers. There are also five architects, two of whom are historical architects, and two artists. The resort also has a restaurant, a beach, calesa rides and a swimming pool.
