Hello everyone! I was able to buy some vegetables so I made “pinakbet” which was stir fried vegetables with bagoong or soy sauce. It was delicious!


Using my new paraffin hand treatment machine…

Last night’s dinner – chicken and pork adobo with green beans, rice and salad.

Pork hamburger with stilton cheese

Hello everyone! It’s a bridge day here in Bavaria and we have 2 days off from tomorrow – yay! Anyway, just sharing with you what we cooked last Saturday. It’s pork hamburger with stilton cheese. First, mince the pork and add some flour, season with salt and pepper. Fry them. Put aside. Make some salad of lettuce and sliced apple, add olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Turn the heat off, add the sliced stilton cheese in the pan and return the burgers in. Put the bread also in the heat. On the plate put the bread, add the lettuce and apple slice, then the burger and cheese, then apple and lettuce and the top of the bread. Serve with some chips. It was delicious!

Roast Chicken Tikka

Happy Sunday everyone! We saw this purple cauliflower in the market so we thought of cooking it with the chicken.


Following Jamie Oliver’s easy cooking with 5 ingredients, we prepared the 5 vital ingredients: for the two of us, a small piece of chicken, half of cauliflower, 4 pieces of potatoes, fresh coriander and tikka masala paste. First, wash and quarter the potatoes, don’t peel. Cut the flowers of the cauliflower into small size, stalks and all.


Cover the chicken with 2 to 4 spoons of tikka paste (or other indian paste, like tandoori, korma, vindaloo). Use hands (a bit messy, but fun!)


Put the rest of the paste to the vegetables. Season the potatoes and cauliflower with salt and pepper, olive oil and wine vinegar. Cut the stems of the coriander and add them. Put the coriander leaves in a bowl of cold water, to be sprinkled later.


Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and put the chicken and the vegetables.


Roast for an hour up to 1 hour and 20 minutes. Let the fat of the chicken drip to the vegetables.


Voila! Our roast chicken tikka 🙂

Being pampered in Das Kranzbach

Hello everyone! We’re here in Das Kranzbach and we loved being pampered. It’s a four star hotel and a wellness refuge. The place is amazing!

There are four outdoor pools and one indoor pool, all heated and complete with jacuzzi. There are also saunas and other wellness facilities.

We went for a walk today, from Kranzbach to Am Berg and it took us two and a half hours going up and down. Am Berg is 1200m high.

We have a full board accomodation and the food from breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner was wonderful!

Hello everyone! Hope you’re all fine. Lots of things to be thankful this week.

Him Indoors and I are doing well, sort of healthyish, well, aside from his bad knee and my diabetes, life seems to be back to our normal routine.

met friends N and R for our lunch – snitzel and rice! then we walked to the city centre. We haven’t seen each other for quite some time, so we tried to catch up with our latest news. It was fun.

we did some shopping and people watching. The flowers were really nice and there were sits/benches when we wanted to sit down and rest.

yesterday, I met my friend C for our Japanese soup (udon and miso). We also haven’t seen each other for quite some time, so it was really nice to see her again. Then we went for our manicure/pedicure and carried on talking while being pampered. It was a lovely day, indeed!

this month we are celebrating the birthdays of my brother, niece and nephew, as well as my friend N’s daughter – Many happy returns to all of them! Cheers!

Holiday in Hamburg, part 2


Hello everyone! Part two of our holiday in Hamburg. Him Indoors is a big fan of model railways. We bought the tickets online so we didn’t have to queue for hours to see them. Miniatur Wunderland is a model railway attraction and the largest of its kind in the world. The railway is located in the historic Speicherstadt district of the city.

St. Peter’s Cathedral stands on the site of many former cathedrals. Built by order of Pope Leo X, it has been a Protestant cathedral since the Reformation and its congregation forms part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany. The best known artworks in St Peter’s are the lion-head door handles, located in the left wing of the west portal. However, the cathedral contains many additional works of art.

The Elbphilharmonie is a concert hall in the HafenCity quarter of Hamburg, Germany, on the Grasbrook peninsula of the Elbe River. It is one of the largest and most acoustically advanced concert halls in the world. It is popularly nicknamed Elphi.


We walked along the harbour.

We had lunch at the Portuguese quarter.
