Sunday Writing Prompt – The river flowing up a hill

boat-2699488_1280

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “If” by Karen Jo Shapiro: wait, pick, book, read, until, end, find, why, how, lucky, reader, friend

Today I feel lucky, my friend
A day to myself to spend
Row, row, row my boat, such a thrill
The river flowing up a hill

As I pick up a book to read
A page turner just as I fancied
Love story that is so real
The river flowing up a hill

Wanting to find the how and why
Don’t want to end when they say bye
Could row this boat until Brazil
The river flowing up a hill

Couldn’t wait to see what is next
For I know that life is perplexed
Passing by the moor and the mill
The river flowing up a hill*

Liquid – Photo Challenge

Water, water, water, I love water everywhere
Seas, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, streams, pools
We’ll enjoy splashing around, fair and square
Playing in the rain, relaxing in whirlpools

We can drink water, so pure and refreshing
Our body needs water, also when we exercise
Good for our spirit, stops us from ageing
Nice to go sailing, make sure we don’t capsize

Swimming in the sea, that’s my favourite
Watching the sun as it rises and sets
Having a picnic or an elaborate banquet
Did I tell you about my memorable sunsets?

Aquatic life is quite entertaining and fun
Like what we feel when the lottery’s won

10 Days of Heat: Diving into the deep end (Day 4)

Day-4-2017animaatjes-peace-13841

Who will you make peace with?
Is it wrong to search my soul?
So I know what indeed is my role
When I wonder deep down its meaning
And forgiveness I am begging
When I pushed the cobwebs of lies
And each one has his lows and highs
Is it wrong to find atonement?
When there was a creepy silent?
For all who I’ve offended
Out with the truth blurted
For all who are suffering
And the tension it brings
For all who are in pain
Like being in chains
What’s clear is I want peace
All misgivings to decrease

Our Malta experience 2

According to Wikipedia: Malta is an archipelago in the central Mediterranean between Sicily and the North African coast. It’s a nation known for historic sites related to a succession of rulers including the Romans, Moors, Knights of Saint John, French and British. It has numerous fortresses, megalithic temples and the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, a subterranean complex of halls and burial chambers dating to circa 4000 B.C.

Sharing with you some of the street scenes in Malta.

as well as water scenes.

We had some of the wonderful sunset experience.

We’ve joined a cruise to Gozo, Camino and Blue Lagoon. But as you could see, it was a windy day and we had quite a rough voyage.

Then, we had a three-hour bus tour around Gozo.

Sharing with you some of the food we’ve had on this holiday. I’ve had fish and seafood and Him Indoors has had burgers, steak and chips.

and of course, our drinks.

All in all, we really had a smashing time! Cheers!

Driving to Britain

Once a year we drive to Britain. We usually stay the night in Maastricht and then carry on driving to Calais, take the ferry to Dover and drive to the Midlands. We visit Him Indoors’ parents for the week, as well as my brother and family. HRH the son and K usually come. On the way to Britain, our car is full of some beers from Bavaria and boxes of wines. On the way back, we have to fill the car with Him Indoors’ British supplies – HP sauce, Worchester sauce, cheddar cheese, salt and vinegar crisps, malt vinegar, Branston pickles and black tea.
