That’s the fire making all these sounds

While teddy bear watches

The scent of the tangerine

The sip of the mulled wine

Grateful for the minced pies

That Granny baked

So grateful indeed for our highs

Remember those times?

When we’re all cosy by the fire

Watching the Muppets Christmas Carol

Or listening to Frank or Bill or Dean

While the Grandfather’s clock ticking

When we can no longer wait

For Christmas morning to come

Presents under the tree and start our fete
