And as she walked away, she took it all with her
His memories, his promises as well as his betrayal
When they first started out, the world was brighter
It was wonderful and this house where they nestle
His memories, his promises as well as his betrayal
He promised that he’ll be true and never stray
It was wonderful and this house where they nestle
They used to be happy they didn’t mind being castaway
He promised that he’ll be true and never stray
That promise was broken and the trust was ruined
They used to be happy they didn’t mind being castaway
But now that he is gone her life was blackened
That promise was broken and the trust was ruined
When they first started out, the world was brighter
But now that he is gone her life was blackened
And as she walked away, she took it all with her*

There’s a sad story there. The form, with the repetition doesn’t detract.

My aunt (RIP) married young. Soon after, he started beating her. 25 years and five kids later, she finally got away from him. This man destroyed many lives and left scars on others. He flaunted his girlfriends in front of my aunt. He molested his daughters and nieces. He died young.
Even after one is gone from the circumstance, I don’t think they can ever be truly free.
